HOW SARA WORKS

With an extraordinary eye for the latest styles, colours and trends I provide a complete design solution incorporating planning, interior and exterior design, build, architectural reconfiguration, lighting and electrical design, furnishing, decorations and procurement.

Whilst each project is different, the following summarises the journey I take with each client.

CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT

The process begins over a large mug of coffee were the initial consultation focuses on an exchange of ideas, needs, scope and aspirations, plus a discussion about budget and an explanation of my services and the stages of each process.

 

Once contracts are signed, a site survey is conducted for measurements and a further design meeting to firm up the brief and budget, here ideas are developed and a scheme agreed upon. Also if needed the role of project management is explained, discussed and agreed.

 

 

DESIGN PROCESS

This phase requires a large amount of design time and proficiency to conceive the project’s creative and technical details. Here, Sara will prepare a series of design presentations including floor plans, window treatments and wall elevations, which will show structural and architectural arrangements, along with colour/sample boards that include fabric and wall paper samples, colours, lighting, furnishings, joinery and finishes.

 

Each element of the project is developed, specified, costed and presented for discussion and for the client to approve and sign-off. Full working drawings are prepared for the appointed consultants and trades and if the client wishes to accompany me to various showrooms, suppliers and other outlets where needed.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Subject to the extent of the project management role previously agreed, progress of the project is monitored and managed on site and any issues arising in the course of the project are resolved in order to maintain quality, budget and schedule.

Throughout this stage the client will be kept informed of all progress.

​

Sara will take responsibility for procurement including liaison with UK-based and international suppliers and logistics companies. Orders and deliveries are programmed so that they arrive at the required time. This is a critical element of the project and has to be handled with expertise and care.

FINISHING TOUCHES

With the construction and decoration completed I coordinate the delivery and installation of soft furnishings including window treatments and carpets.

 

I often assistant with new artwork and home accessories at this stage, to create the finished look, or I can dress your new interior with your existing treasures, to give each room your own personal stamp.
